Class Descriptions

Recreational Dance Classes

Dance skills are extremely important for today’s musical theater performer. That is why we are happy to offer a variety of classes to help our performers of all ages become more well-rounded and confident dancers. These classes will allow dancers of all skill levels to improve and perform their best at auditions or in dance-heavy shows.

PRE-DANCE BALLET/TAP COMBO (Ages 3-5) We love our little stars! This combo class is a perfect intro to dance for our preschool and/or kindergarten performers. They will be introduced to some of the fundamentals of ballet and tap with lots of fun mixed in. This class can be complemented by our Broadway Junior class for even more Musical Theater fun!

MINI, JUNIOR & TEEN MUSICAL THEATER DANCE (TAP/JAZZ COMBO) (Mini Ages 5-8; Junior Ages 9-12; Teen Ages 12-18) These combo classes blend tap, musical theater and jazz technique and have been carefully structured to help our performers grow their skills and confidence at every level.

TEEN TAP & JAZZ 2 (Ages 12-18) Take your tapping skills to the next level with our Teen Tap & Jazz 2 classes. These classes are designed for performers who have already advanced in MT Dance classes and are looking to expand their skills.

Theater Classes

AUDITION PREP Having a great audition and callback is a skill unto itself and is critical to being cast in the roles you’re aiming for. In this class you’ll learn all about the art of auditioning and how you can better perform in the audition room.

COMEDY CREW! Laughter is the best medicine! Through improvisation games, sketch comedy scenes, and the fundamentals of audience interaction, this class will help performers to build confidence and teamwork, as we learn the simple rules of comedy.

BROADWAY JUNIOR (Ages 3-6) Broadway Jr is an introductory musical theater course for our youngest performers. This class introduces the basics of Musical Theater such as singing, dancing, acting, music theory, costume design, and more! Performers will create small performances to share with their families. This class is great for students who love to sing and dance in their home and want a taste of musical theater.

SPOTLIGHT ORIGINALS Have you ever wanted to write a story and have it performed for a live audience? Now is your chance! Allowing our imaginations to run wild, we will learn the basics of script writing and investigate what it takes to bring the characters from the page to the stage. Every student will gain experience in brainstorming the different aspects of putting on a show from set design to costuming and everything in between. The final product will be a show written, designed, and produced by YOU!

MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOPS One of our most popular classes! Our musical theater workshops are a weekly rehearsal-based class, that performs a small-scale showcase at the end of the 12-week season. With more focus on the craft of the theater, students will learn the fundamentals of what it takes to put together a show, including acting, singing, and dance numbers. Our workshops provide a safe and welcoming environment for our performers who need more experience before taking on a mainstage production or just want to hone their skills and have fun. Enrollment for our workshops is now very limited to allow students more focused time with the instructor as well as individual moments to shine during the show.
