Ages 6-12 – Disney’s Dare to Dream JR. follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible. Drawing from a century of beloved Disney films, Dare to Dream JR. features songs appearing for the first time ever in a Disney stage musical, including fan-favorites from The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II. This musical revue is a thrilling mix of contemporary songs, timeless classics, and brand-new medleys that are sure to surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages.

Performers should choose ONE song from provided options. Please note that there are 3 folders: one folder with the lyrics, one folder with music with vocals, and one folder with music without vocals.

Audition & Production Info

Performers ages 6-12 are invited to come and audition for our Future Stars production of Dare to Dream Jr.

Audition Dates, Location, & Fee

Auditions date is Saturday, March 28th from 9-Noon. Auditions will be held at the Spotlight Studio – 17451 Bastanchury Rd, Suite 102D. The show production fee is $420 and includes professional instruction, costumes, performance rights, materials, sets, props, theater rental and a show t-shirt.

  • REGISTRATION: Use the form below to pre-register for auditions and choose an audition appointment.
  • SONG: Please choose a song from the audition materials linked above.
Rehearsals & Performances

Rehearsals: Dare to Dream Jr. will rehearse Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4-6pm beginning March 31st. Please list all conflicts with those days in mind. All performers will not be called to every rehearsal.

Performances: Dare to Dream Jr. will tech and perform June 22-28th 2026 at the Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center. Conflicts during tech week and shows will not be approved.

Conflict Policy

• Conflicts must be submitted at the auditions. All conflicts must be handed in by the final callback to be considered “excused.”

• Excused Absences:  The conflicts that are listed on a performers audition sheet will be evaluated by our production team and are taken into consideration during the casting process.  Once “excused” by the team, performers are cleared to miss those rehearsals and those rehearsals only.

• Unexcused Absences: After casting has been finalized, additional conflicts or new conflicts are considered unexcused absences, and may lead to being dropped from the show. If a performer has more than 3 unexcused absences, Yorba Linda Spotlight reserves the right to remove the performer from the show without a refund.  Extreme circumstances (family emergencies, extended illness, etc) will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Participants will not be cast if they have conflicts during tech week or performances. We reserve the right to not cast a participant if that person has an excessive number of conflicts or has demonstrated poor discipline in their most recent participation.
